The Governor of the State of Osun and the visitor to Osun State University, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has announced the appointment of Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, as the second Chancellor of Osun State University, Osogbo. The pioneer Chancellor being His Imperial Majesty, the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade whose five year tenure lapsed in 2014.

The final Admission list of Osun State University for the 2015/2016 Admission exercise into various degree programmes has now been released. Also, the deadline for payment of fees and completion of registration for all freshers is 30th December, 2015. The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) Osun State Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. O.J. Alamu, on Wednessday, 29th July, 2015.
Notice is hereby given that the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening exercise will hold from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th August 2015 at 9am - 5pm for candidates who chose Osun State University as their First choice, with a minimum score of 180.

The National Universities Commission has assigned some professionals to visit three Colleges/Faculties in UNIOSUN for accreditation of some programmes. The Colleges/Faculties visited were: Humanities and Culture, Ikire; Management and Social Sciences and Law.
The 2014/2015 Google Student Ambassadors of Osun State University recently got approval for a fully sponsored Google Hands-On training on Android Applications Development for students in the University.
